Beauty distorted…
I’ve been a fan of Dove’s Campaign for Real Beauty for awhile. I think it’s an important message to send to women and men alike. All shapes, sizes, and colors are beautiful and sexy. Not enough people realize the amount of processing goes into making the women we see on TV and in magazines look like they do. Dove does an admirable job showing it. I’m especially amazed at the neck lengthening and the eye enlargment - isn’t it weird what we find attractive?
Snaps also go to the TLC Network for their show, Cover Shot. I was lucky enough to catch it during a recent bout of insomnia - we’ve all been there, right? Real women apply and they’re given the whole ‘model treatment’ for a day. From their site:
